Everyone watch where you're going... there's a Runaway Cow on the loose

It seems the “Cow” is making a big splash lately.  Everyone's talking and listening to the tunes and the new facebook page is busy busy.  Not bad for a band that started over 20 years ago and disbanded before the 90's were over.  Here we are in 2011 and the fans of Runaway Cow are making some noise.  I'm an internet DJ for musicworldradio.com and I've had Joseph on my show.  The spirit of the cow is still out there and I see no reason why this band has to be quiet.

When I began listening to Runaway Cow, they'd already been apart about a year or so.  I really dug what I heard on the two albums Long Live The Dork Revolution and Getting Lost On The Way Out of The Womb, and I wanted to hear more.  The Psycho Monkey On Planet Earth soundtrack and Upsongs were my next taste and all I could think was that I'd been stuck like an ostrich with my head in a hole until I made this awesome musical discovery.  I forced the music on all of my friends.  Most even liked it.  And every once in a while, Joseph would introduce me to someone and say something like, “she's a Cow fan from way back.”  I always felt like I'd found a kindred spirit.

That was before the end of the 1990's though, and indie music over the internet wasn't like it is now.  It wasn't as available to fans and it wasn't as easy for the bands to put out there.  Thankfully times have changed and here in 2011, we can share music in a heartbeat.  We can blog about it, tweet about it, even skype about it face to face with fans hundreds of miles away.  So now, I'm finally getting to do what I've always wanted to do, and that is to share this timeless band with people all over the world.

If you're new to the music and you dig it, friend us on facebook... follow this blog... download the music and do me a favor.  When you hear these songs, let us know what you think.  Give me one sentence that explains what you like about the band or the music.  You can post it here in the comments or on facebook, but please do.  Someone's gotta keep the cow running.
